Clean Energy BC Conference Well Received
At the beginning of June, Clean Energy BC hosted their annual Spring conference here in Trail at the Best Western Columbia River Hotel. This conference celebrated local industry’s commitment to clean energy and technology in Metal Tech Alley. The conference hosted over 150 professionals, policy makers and clean technology innovators! The focus was on local job growth and cultivating the low-carbon economy in BC through clean technology and renewable energy projects. Keynote speakers included Dr. Andrew Weaver, Leader of BC’s Green Party and Sophie Pierre of the Ktunaxa Nation, former Chief Commissioner of the BC Treaty Association. Though attendees were diverse, coming from many different industries and backgrounds, there was common agreement that clean energy is crucial to BC meeting climate targets. Attendees had the opportunity to tour several dams and a solar farm in the local area. Clean Energy BC took the opportunity to also host a workshop that explored the possibilities presented in the BC government’s Clean BC using local clean energy strategies as case studies.
Clean Energy BC’s next conference will be in Vancouver, November 6-8th. Metal Tech Alley will continue to work with Clean Energy BC in the future!
