The West Kootenays is home to a wide variety of species including, bull, rainbow and cutthroat trout, small-mouth bass, burbot, whitefish, dolly varden, and kokanee salmon.
Waterfront communities and provincial parks have publicly accessible boat ramps and several marinas operate in the region.
